Nikon Optics markets the Monarch series as it's top of the scope offering. In addition to the standard Monarch line, Nikon also offers two upgraded lines called the Monarch X and the Monarch Gold. Both the X and Gold series are a step up in the Monarch series, but are really geared towards precision benchrest or military shooters. The Gold version has a 30mm tube versus a standard 1 inch tube. For most people, the Monarch will be one of the best scopes that they have ever purchased.
The Monarch is available in both a traditional focus set-up and a side focus set-up. A Monarch scope configuration is available for nearly every hunting or shooting need. Nikon offers the Monarch in a variety of magnification from a 2-8 X 32 all the way up to an 8-32 X 50.
